Racha Yai is the nearest of Phuket diving sites and offers local year around scuba diving in Thailand. The beautiful and shallow bays of Racha Yai are known for both clear water and colorful coral formations. All dive sites at Racha Yai are suitable for both scuba divers and snorkelers on holiday in Phuket. The best diving is off the east coast where there are now 3 wrecks all put down in shallow water for divers. All stripped and perfectly safe to go inside. There has also been a huge amount of artificial reef put down in the last couple of years which is attracting a very varied selection of fish. Along the shores you'll be diving along sloping rocks that is covered with colourful hard corals and large schools of tropical fish, turtles, cuttlefish and Octopus.

Racha Noi, a bit further south is a very popular dive site amongst scuba divers coming to Phuket. In general you'll find the water a bit clearer here as Racha Noi in uninhabited and not used very much for the local speed boat snorkel trips. Racha Noi south tip offers huge boulders and a good chance to see manta rays, eagle rays and other pelagic marine life. However in recent years the big stuff has mover to the dive sites all over the island. On the northern tip of Racha Noi you'll find several bays with sloping coral reefs, rocks and boulders and some great wall diving. When diving at Racha Noi, you should always look out for larger marine life like black tip reef sharks, leopard sharks, eagle and manta rays. Is a very popular dive site amongst scuba divers coming to Phuket. In general there is plenty to see at greater depths for the advanced divers and amazing shallower bays for the new divers. Racha Noi is also a great place to snorkel as you are away from the crowds in warm shallow bays teeming with life.
