Ascent Ceiling: The depth at which decompression stops are performed is called the “ascent ceiling”. Ideally the “stop-depth” should be somewhat deeper than the “ascent ceiling”. These “ceilings” are advised by computer software, diver worn wrist computers, or pre-printed decompression tables.
