PADI Open Water Diver course.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water.
This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor.
This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

7.30am: We come and collect you from your hotel lobby and transfer you by one of our air-conditioned mini buses to our day trip diving boat.
Your PADI dive instructor will be waiting for you on the boat, and after a short briefing on the boat and the facilities on-board it is time for some breakfast which will be freshly prepared for you by the boat crew.
Whilst making our way to the amazing coral reefs surrounding the islands south of Phuket, you will have an hour or so with your instructor to go though the objectives of the first dive which will be the
Underwater Navigation dive.
You are going to be amazed at what you can see down there;
Corals soft and hard, millions of tropical fish and much, much more. During the dive you will do some practical underwater navigation skills and once these are completed then the rest of the dive is just for fun.
Once you are back on board a hot buffet lunch will be served by the boat crew and this gives you time to relax with your instructor and discuss how the dive went and an assessment of your diving skills- and prepare for the next dive which is the Peak Performance Buoyancy.
The
Peak Performance Buoyancy section is great fun to get you flying weightlessly above the reefs without touching or damaging them. This also teaches you how to stay completely still under the water which is especially useful if you are trying to take an underwater photo of something interesting.
Once you have finished the dive, washed your equipment it is time to relax in the sun with a soft drink or beer and discuss the days diving with your instructor and go through what you will be up to the next day.
When we get back at the port it's then back aboard the transport and we will return you to your hotel around 5pm- leaving you time to do some self-study in the evening for the next exciting day.
Again we come and collect you from your hotel lobby at 7.30am and transfer you by one of our air-conditioned mini buses to our day trip diving boat.
Today it is going to be a 3 dive day and we will cover the
Deep dive,
Computer and Multi level dive and
Underwater Naturalist dive. The other sections of the PADI Advanced Open Water manual cover:
Drift Diving,
Night Diving,
Wreck Diving,
Boat Diving,
During the day like day one there will be breakfast and lunch served during the day, and between the dives we will have around an hour surface interval to give you time to relax and discuss the dive with your instructor.
We will return you to your hotel at around 6pm and then in your own time pop back into the dive center and collect your temporary Advanced Open Water license from your instructor.
The cost of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is:
14,000 Thailand Baht: Group tuition - Maximum group size 4 students to one PADI Instructor.
16,800 Thailand Baht: Private Tuition - One private Instructor for the complete course.
The course includes:
- PADI Advanced Open Water Manual.
- PADI certification costs.
- Full set of rental scuba diving equipment.

I'm a pretty harsh critic but these guys are five star. My instructor (Philip) was a great guy and helped me through my open water course when I wanted to quit. I'd thoroughly recommend them for beginnings like me!
I would strongly recommend Sunrise Diving (now Thailand Divers) to anybody who is going to Phuket to dive or to learn to dive. They are a very professional, efficient organization with a dive crew who are prepared to go that extra mile to make things work.

Sunrise Diving Center (now Thailand Divers) is great, not just because they really know what they are doing but they really care!
As a newbie to diving I booked everything for my open water course before i left the UK with Sunrise Diving this turned out to be the best decision ever.
I was a bit lost and unsure what to do or expect before i arrived as i had no diving experience what so ever.
But as soon as I walked into the Sunrise Diving shop I felt instantly welcome and as soon as i met my instructor and he put me at ease straight away telling me what we were going to do and reassuring me all through the course and within a matter of minutes I felt really at home and comfortable with everyone like i had known them for years.
As well as teaching me to dive Phil knew where the homes were for some of the aquatic species. The reefs were just bursting with fish, The underwater experience was fantastic
The service of Sunrise Diving School was excellent! Their boats are in great condition, they supply all the necessary equipment for scuba diving and it was in excellent condition.
I am off to Bali & Sipidan diving in a few months time again but i have every intention of returning to Phuket and Sunrise Diving to meet up again with these guys and maybe do a Photographic course with them.
Sunrise Diving school is the one to choose. No regrets!
