Be a life-saver!

The Emergency First Response (EFR) course gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies- not just in the diving world, but in your every day world with your family, friends, neighbours and co-workers too.

This non-diving course is conducted at our dive centre and through a combination of independent study and skill practice with your EFR Instructor, you’ll build the confidence and skills to provide basic emergency care in any situation.

During the course you will learn:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
  • AED (automated external defibrillator) use
  • Preventing and caring for shock
  • Spinal injury management
  • Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
  • Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

In combination with the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty, you will be fully prepared to take on the challenging PADI Rescue Diver course.

classroom work for the scuba diver licence phuket thailand padiYou will meet your EFR Instructor at our dive centre in Patong to watch the EFR training DVD and complete the Knowledge Reviews from the Emergency First Response manual.

You will also be shown various First Aid skills and have the opportunity to practice the techniqes with your Instructor and fellow class-mates.

There is a multiple-choice exam to pass as well- but don't worry you'll be taught everything you need to know to get through it.

Finally, your EFR Instructor will setup an example accident scenario so that you can put into practice everything that you've been taught today.

This course is conducted in one of our air-conditioned classrooms at the dive centre- there are no swimming pool sessions or open water dives required for this certification.
