Conus geographus, also known as the Geography Cone, is a species of cone snail particularly known for its potent venom. In comparison with other Conus species, the shell is noticeably wider and convex mid-body, with a flattened spiral. The shell walls are also noticeably thinner and lighter compared to other cone shells of comparable length and size. The color of the shell ranges from light gray to tan, occasionally reddish, with a mottled appearance.
Habitat
Geography cones are common throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
Venom
Conus geographus has the most toxic sting known among Conus species and is responsible for the death of at least thirty divers.
