Manta Diving
South Tip (Plateau).
As the name suggests, this dive site is situated at the southern end of Koh Racha Noi island. South tip is not large - it consists mostly of granite boulders at depths ranging from 12 meters in the north to more than 40 meters in the south.
In the west the rock slope is gentle, but the east side is steeper and there are fewer corals . There are also short soft corals, fire corals and sea fans attached to the rock face all over the south and west, from the shallows to the deep.
The dive usually starts at the south reef of Koh Racha Noi at depths of 20 -30 meters, where sea whips and sea fans grow on the sloped rubble bottom leading to the pinnacle.
Surgeonfish, unicornfish and redtooth triggerfish are common and can be found at any rubble area even at 40 meters, while damselfish are frequently seen on the top of the hard coral. Large pelagics such as chevron barracuda are also seen often, as well as marvelous manta rays. Leopard sharks may also be spotted on this die site.
Banana Bay.

Possibly getting its name from the abundance of banana trees that grow on the bay, the east of Koh Racha Noi Island is named "banana bay". This is an easy dive site, with clear shallow flat area starting from 3 - 10 meters, and the hard coral reef sloping gently to 25 meters with staghorn coral occupying most of the area punctuated by white powdery sand.

Like the other diveistes of Racha Noi island, reef fish such as fire gobies, triggerfish, butterflyfish and colourful fairy basslets are often found on top of the staghorn coral. Small schools of yellowtail barracuda and snappers are often seen here.
In the shallows, you can find giant morays, other types of moray eels, black and white snappers, hawksbill turtles and green turtles.
On occasions you might spot great barracuda and seasnakes. The deeper waters, on the other hand may present you the opportunity to see big fish like leopard sharks, manta rays and even whale sharks.
Bungalow Bay.
With a luxury resort located prominently on the beach, it is easy to see how this bay got its name. Bungalow Bay is characterised by a deep curve, and both sides are excellent for diving.
The Northern side of the bay is a reef slope consisting of staghorn corals and small rock outcrops ranging from depths of 5 meters to 22 meters underwater, and ends with a sandy bottom. The southern side of the bay is covered with staghorn and pore corals, and has several gigantic rocks along the edge of the island.
Reef fish such as parrotfish, snapper, grouper, angelfish, butterflyfish and clownfish are common. At the shallow waters, the unusual shrimpfish are occasionally found in schools.
Divers may also find some of the rarer creatures, such as the rare leaf fish which may be found in crevices. The robust ghost pipefish, an uncommon species in this area, has also been spotted at the sandy bottom near big submerged rocks. Divers may also catch a glimpse of leopard sharks quietly on the sandy bottom and manta rays swooping overhead.
